Inspired by the first light of morning, when the landscape begins to emerge in softened Ombré pink and green.
Handwoven in Kashmir, First Light brings together muted mauve and soft foliage green, drawing from the first colours of the Kashmiri landscape as morning light begins to settle across the earth, mountains and trees.
The yarn is dyed in graduating shades before reaching the loom, creating a soft ikat ombré transition woven directly into the Pashmina. The fine Pashmina is then woven on a handloom specially set to the proportions of the foulard, creating its characteristic lightness, exceptionally soft touch and fluid drape. Subtle variations within the weave preserve the individuality of its handmade origin, while delicate tassels complete the piece by hand.
Created for Autumn Winter, its softened palette and lightweight warmth make First Light an effortless everyday layer, worn around the neck, over knitwear or draped across the shoulders.
The first colors of Kashmir, held in morning light.

Where is it crafted?
Every IndusWeavers Pashmina is meticulously handwoven and finished in Kashmir by skilled artisans, preserving generations of traditional craftsmanship. We work directly with our artisans, honouring their expertise and ensuring authenticity at every stage.
How can I recognise the handmade details?
The beauty of handcrafted Pashmina lies in its individuality. Subtle variations in the weave, texture and colour are natural characteristics of traditional handloom craftsmanship, making every piece unique.
Depending on the design, you may discover intricate Sozni hand embroidery, traditional Kani weaving or other heritage techniques, each reflecting the remarkable skill and patience of Kashmiri artisans.
Can I test its authenticity at home?
We do not recommend home authenticity tests, such as burning fibres or relying on the ring test, as these methods can damage delicate Pashmina and produce misleading results.
At IndusWeavers, we believe authenticity begins with transparency. If you would like to learn more about the materials, craftsmanship or origin of a particular piece, our team will be delighted to assist you.
